For yoga to be balanced it needs a balance. Yoga Dharma, in Southchurch road, offers that balance. One year ago I thought yoga was one class a week (if I could make it), with a few stretches and a vague feeling of being relaxed. Postures would be left uncorrected and the practice, such as it was, never really left the mat.
Yoga Dharma changed that all. First there was the breadth of classes and then the depth of those classes; as the importance of the practice of Yoga, of the limbs of ashtanga are gently introduced.
Postures are worked towards with corrections but also humour; a sense of community prevails. Above all is the self learning that grows from a base of Yoga practice. A better sense of worth, of patience, and a sense of inner joy.’
