The Yoga dharma Teacher Training course is designed to encourage self-exploration and self-evaluation through guidance and encouragement. Once we begin to take a new look at our practice, and implement a regular regime of daily asana, bandha, kriya and meditation the process will begin to unfold. There is a team of teachers at Yoga Dharma on hand to answer questions throughout your course and beyond. One of our major commitments is full support until you have successfully completed your course.
Teacher Training is structured in flexible weekend modules. Each module is self-contained and will include teaching practice, teaching methods, structuring a class through vinyasa karma (intelligent and appropriate sequencing of classes). Yoga philosophy is led and discussed through individual understanding, in a non-dogmatic way. It leaves you to make your own conclusions. All aspects of setting up your business are covered, from costing your classes, getting to grips with social media, business plans, discovering what is your unique selling point, and how to make the most of a small budget.
Your course is fully Yoga Alliance accredited, and internationally accepted, the Yoga Alliance kite mark is recognised throughout the world. We maintain and exceed the highest standards set out by Yoga Alliance, which includes all aspects of teaching yoga and setting up your own yoga business.
You will learn to adjust postures with skill and humility, allowing your student to find their own place in yoga. This will include anatomy and physiology, the subtle anatomy, modifications and the appropriate use of props. You will learn through your own practice the benefits of pranayama, and we will teach you how to present that in your classes.
Your course is structured to take your needs into account. The modules run one per month, are self-contained and repeat themselves. This means you can join the course at any time throughout the year. You will join a group which will include new starters like yourself, others who have already started plus the more experienced students. This combination works extremely well, allowing the new students to learn from the more experienced. This system works particularly well in class planning, when divide into small groups and the more experienced can mentor the newer students.
