One of the most sought after techniques in Astanga Vinyasa Yoga is how to jump back and jump through. This workshop demystifies the technique, making it accessible to all. I believe anyone can do this, It comes down to how much you want it, and how long you want to spend getting ready to make lift off!

The most important factors involved are strength and technique. Probably strength comes first, but not brute strength, its far more subtle than that. We are working with Bandhas (see my article on the bandhas) which takes time to understand and apply. Think of Bandhas as core strength and we have a starting point. Working on core strength and upper body strength is essential to be able to lift our own body weight, but as important is correct technique, We will learn on this workshop, the combination and application of strength and technique.

Using tried and tested methods, we will apply the techniques to get lift off, and practice developing our core strength. Some of us with more of one than the other. Not all students who are the strongest will get there first.
